Today’s Charity: Food Bank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties. “The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties distributes approximately 7 million pounds annually through a network of 260 feeding programs, such as soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters. One out of every ten people living in Monmouth and Ocean Counties receives food from The FoodBank. Since Superstorm Sandy struck the Jersey Shore on October 29, 2012, The FoodBank has been actively involved in the work to bring relief and comfort to the communities we serve.”

Today’s Sad Fact: Margaret Keane, known for her sad-eyed “Waif” paintings, in the 1960s was reportedly forced by her future ex-husband to produce the paintings which he then sold under his own name. She later won the right to the paintings by producing one in court.

About Today’s Artists: Brandi and Jason have been married for almost 20 years and live in Huntsville, AL. Brandi is a soap maker and furniture revitalizer as one half of the Owl Sisters as well as a photographer. She took this photo. Jason’s just this guy and stuck a dumb light bulb on the skull.
Today’s Sad Fact: Actor Allan Lane was the voice of Mr. Ed but never listed in the credits. Also, they made the horse, Bamboo Harvester, talk using a string, not peanut butter.
